NEOLD Private House

NEOLD is a unique accommodation located near Yoshino, Nara Prefecture. Here you will rent the entire space for yourself (about 1,200m² or 13,000 ft²) and become the hero of your Japanese adventure. NEOLD is the only place in Japan that lets you experience traditional cultures and art from all over Japan in only one spot, all privately. You can enjoy traditional experiences such as private Noh and Kyogen theater performances. In addition to the cultural experience, become a Shogun for a day with the Shogun Experience where you and fellows can experience various stages as a shogun, just as if you had traveled back in time to the Edo period.

For dinner, the private chef prepares a bespoke meal for you, using only the finest seasonal ingredients. The head samurai will taste your food for poison before you ingest anything. After all, one can never be too careful. Take a drink on the roof deck, stargaze while soaking in the open-air bath, or simply relax in the lounge of the main hall. If you like, you can also add on an activity from the list of optional private experiences:

• Noh Theater: a traditional Japanese masked drama with dance and song, evolved from Shinto rites.
• Iai / Budo: one of Japan’s traditional martial arts.
• Kyogen: a form of traditional Japanese comic theater.
• Waso: the technique for dressing in the traditional Kimono.
• Tezuma: the art of magic passed down in Japan since ancient times.
• Sado: The Japanese tea ceremony.
• Kassen: Traditional battle techniques.
• Naguta/Shamizen: a traditional Japanese three-stringed lute with a square body.
• A variety of tours such as a visit to the nearby Soy Sauce Brewery, Kinpusenji Temple, and the surrounding historical town of Yoshino can be arranged upon request.

The house is composed of several buildings with its Noh stage at the center. It can accommodate up to 6 guests.
